Luckley’s Little Highlands is a labor of love, run by husband and wife team Alyssa and James Luckley-Sharkey. With lifelong roots in the equine and livestock world, our passion for animals runs deep—so naturally, we found themselves drawn to the charm and character of mini Highland cattle.
Our journey into breeding mini Highlands specifically was inspired by James’s proud Scottish heritage and Alyssa’s lifelong love of all things adorable. Together, we’re building a program focused on quality, guided by passion, and inspired by big dreams - one tiny moo at a time.
At Luckley’s Little Highlands, quality always comes first. By keeping our fold small, we’re able to give each calf the individual attention, affection, and hands-on training it deserves. We carefully select top-tier bulls to pair with our cows, ensuring every calf we raise is not only beautiful, but structurally sound, friendly, and perfectly suited for life as a beloved family companion.
Our Breeding Philosophy...
Our goal is to produce exceptional miniature Highland calves with sound structure, striking beauty, and gentle, family-friendly temperaments. To help us achieve this, we use artificial insemination with top-quality bulls from leading bloodlines. We also incorporate embryo transfer, allowing only the very best combinations to contribute to the next generation.
All of our mini Highland cattle come fully halter-broke, vaccinated, and dewormed for a healthy and seamless transition into their new homes. Each animal also comes with a special "Luckley Care Package," because when you choose a Luckley Mini Highland, you aren't just getting a beautiful pet—you become a valued member of our Luckley family.
